Treat My Fish ("the App") is an aquaculture health application operated by the Faculty of Fisheries, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) ("we", "us", "our"). The App helps fish growers in Jammu & Kashmir submit fish-health cases and receive AI-assisted and expert guidance from fisheries scientists.
This policy explains what information we collect, why, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.
The data controller is the Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the email in the Contact section below.

| Photos and media | Images of fish/water you capture with the camera or select from your gallery | Multimodal AI-assisted diagnosis and expert review |
| Audio recordings | Optional voice descriptions of a case recorded with your microphone | To let you describe a case by voice instead of typing |
| Location | Approximate and precise GPS location, only when you attach it to a case | To geo-tag cases for local diagnosis context and disease-surveillance mapping |

To provide a diagnosis, the images and case details you submit are processed by automated (AI) systems and by our cloud infrastructure. This processing may occur on third-party cloud and AI services acting on our behalf (see Section 5). Expert fisheries scientists may also review your case to issue an official diagnosis or advisory. Anonymised or aggregated case data may be used to improve diagnostic accuracy and for fisheries research and surveillance.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with providers that process it on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms:
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service.
We keep your account and case data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, research and surveillance obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Contact). Some anonymised, non-identifying records may be retained for research and to improve diagnostic models.
To exercise any of these, email us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on reputable cloud infrastructure with access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
The App is intended for fish growers and fisheries professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated within the App where appropriate.
